ISSEY MIYAKE will be holding a "RECORD"-themed holiday promotion at 12 stores in Asia, Europe, and the United States this holiday season. The promotion's focus is on everyday photographs of scenes from four iconic cities: Tokyo, Paris, London, and New York. The special holiday promotion website (http://www.isseymiyakerecord.com/) features original music and videos inspired by each city, making visitors feel as if they are traveling through the city. Additionally, as a limited-edition product for the holiday season, the brand will be releasing bags and accessories in which the colors of each city's photographs are woven into textiles using "Omoiiro," a system that extracts color palettes from images. "Omoiiro" was developed by Alexis Andre of Sony Computer Science Laboratories. The bags feature a design of connected curves and come in four colors, one for each city. Each bag is priced at 78,000 yen.
From 6:00 pm on December 12th, the event "RECORD" will be held at eltove tep ISSEY MIYAKE/GINZA. A live performance will be held by a trio of accordion, violin, and saxophone. In the space where original music is playing, you can also enjoy an installation where you can experience color analysis of photos taken on the spot using "Omoiiro." On the same day, eltove tep ISSEY MIYAKE/SENBA will also be hosting live music by a trio of piano, saxophone, and guitar, featuring original music inspired by everyday life.
In addition, the window displays at the promotional stores ISSEY MIYAKE/Aoyama, SENBA, Kobe, and eltove tep ISSEY MIYAKE/GINZA will be transformed into decorations with a "RECORD" motif.
