The city is illuminated with Christmas decorations. While experiencing this glittering atmosphere outdoors is one way to enjoy Christmas, many people also celebrate at home by decorating their own trees and wreaths.
As Christmas approaches, you'll feel as if you've wandered into a fairytale world. The 5th floor Living Room of Isetan Shinjuku offers everything you need to decorate your room, from trees to ornaments. We spoke to Mitsukoshi Isetan's Living Room buyer, who visits Christmas exhibitions held in Europe every year, about this year's Christmas trends.
"This year's theme is 'HOW TO MAKE A CHRISTMAS.' Even beginners who don't know where to start can find items that suit their mood and enjoy Christmas at home," the buyer commented.
The store will feature a variety of items, from large trees over 2 meters tall to mini trees that can be placed on a desk, as well as ornaments imported from Germany and ornaments perfect for small windows or entryways. On this floor, merchandise will be divided into themes such as "feel nature Christmas" and "Classic Christmas" until Christmas. Under the "feel nature Christmas" theme until December 1st, items that evoke a sense of warmth using natural materials like wood and stone will be available. This year, inspired by Scandinavian Christmas, the floor will offer a wide selection of tree ornaments made from wood and fabric, depicting animals and plants. According to the buyer mentioned above, "A natural lifestyle is trending even on the living room floor. Following that trend, we selected items that utilize natural materials this year." Starting on December 2nd, just before Christmas, the theme will be "Classic Christmas." Gorgeous ornaments with red and gold as the main colors will be available. After completing your room decorations, it's time to prepare for your home party. On this floor, you can also find table candles and table linens in Christmas colors. Enjoy this time preparing for the best Christmas ever as you close out the year.
