Issey Miyake's HaaT to hold event for "Tamasha" bag at Shinjuku Isetan

Nov 24, 2015

HaaT, a brand developed by ISSEY MIYAKE, will be holding a limited-time event called "Tamasha" from November 25th to December 1st at West Park on the 4th floor of the main building of the Shinjuku Isetan store. "Tamasha" means "festival" in Hindi, and the heart-shaped bags are crafted by Indian artisans using unique techniques. The focus this time is on the "NYLON BRAID" series, which is made by arranging tape-like fabric, each stitched individually with a bias stitch. The bag features "dori" (fabric with a core on the seam allowance) on the zipper pull, "boria" (fabric with a beaded seam allowance), and high-density close stitching to increase the strength of the handles.

Also available at the venue will be the "DIAMOND STITCH" bag series, which features an uneven surface created by machine stitching, the "MOSAIC FLOWER" bag series, which features lavish machine-applied bhill embroidery and a floral design, and the "S-NYLON BRAID SPECIAL" and "S-IKAT SPECIAL" bags, which are exclusive to the shop.
