On September 28th, Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci unveiled its Spring/Summer 2015 women's collection in Paris. Inspired by 1970s styles and the creations of Riccardo Tisci himself when he was appointed creative director, the collection showcased classic Tyrolean styles with lace and corset-like designs, while still retaining Tisci's signature hard-edged vibe with round studs, eyelets, and lace-up details. The collection's lavish use of the craftsmanship of a couture house, including patchwork of leather and knit, and pleats and ruffles that gently sway with every step, elevated the style to a modern level. Like the mini dress seen in the first look, the tops featured off-the-shoulder, daringly open necklines, while the skirts featured flared and pleated A-line silhouettes. Many styles feature a wide open back, and leather wear worn like a long vest is designed like an apron with no back. Layering a backless bodysuit creates a sensual back view. Other attractive styles include the combination of lace, chiffon, and leather, or layering an elegant dress with a T-shirt or bodysuit, juxtaposing extremes of strength and ephemeral beauty.
The skirt is paired with knee-high boots with a screw-like stiletto heel, and the pants are high-waisted leggings or shorts with ladder lace. A top with a geometric print on chiffon is layered with a top of the same pattern or a striped bodysuit, creating a fun, graphic effect of overlapping patterns.
The new bag is a flat, square shoulder bag. It features the same striped patterns and studs as the clothing, and comes in casual designs made from canvas.
