Hartmann returns to Japan, opening its first Asian flagship store in Ginza

Oct 17, 2014

Hartmann, a long-established luxury bag brand, will open its first flagship store in Japan, Hartmann Ginza, in the new commercial facility KIRARITO GINZA, which opens in Ginza, Tokyo on October 30th.

Hartmann is an American bag brand founded by Joseph S. Hartmann in 1877. It proposes three concepts: "luxury," "innovative," and "timeless." The "Tweed Belting" series, which combines the highest quality nylon tweed with belting leather, is famous as the brand's iconic bag. It is also known to have been a favorite of successive US presidents and James Bond.

Other main items include "J Hartmann Reserve," which uses durable leather, "Prestige," which combines Italian leather with brushed metal parts, and "Liberon," which is full of attention to detail in premium leather.

Hartmann was previously sold in department stores, but temporarily withdrew from Japan. In 2012, it was acquired by Samsonite. Hartmann Ginza is the brand's second flagship store in the world, following New York, and its first in Asia, marking Hartmann's return to Japan.
