Men's brand "Vaporize" opens its first standalone store at Lumine Man Shibuya

Oct 24, 2014

On October 23rd, men's brand "VAPORIZE" opened its first standalone store at Lumine Man Shibuya. Overseen by James Iha, former guitarist for the popular American band "Smashing Pumpkins," Vaporize launched in Japan in 2001 as a select shop under the name "BEAMS." The brand's name comes from the "Vapor Flower" found in the lyrics of the British band "Fleetwood Mac," which later evolved into "VAPORIZE." Vaporize sublimates and evaporates fragile, fleeting moments into fashion, creating "feeling wear" that blends into the space and scenery just as music blends into the air. The brand aims to freely combine genre-free fashion with contemporary music.

To commemorate the opening, the store will be selling limited edition T-shirts. The long-sleeved T-shirt, which features only a minimalist logo, is inspired by cut-and-sew styles from the 90s, with ribbing only on the neck. It is also notable for being made in Japan, from the materials to the stitching. The price is 7,800 yen, and it comes in three colors: white, gray, and navy. There is also a campaign running at the same time where customers who spend over 10,000 yen (tax included) will receive an original fleece stole on a first-come, first-served basis.
