COACH will open its new flagship store, "Coach Shinjuku," on Shinjuku Street on October 29th. The store is located on the first and second floors of the Shinjuku Nakamuraya Building, 3-16-13 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku. It was unveiled on the 27th.
The store has an area of 804 square meters and is divided into two floors, with women's items on the first floor and men's items on the second. In addition to the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, the first season under new Executive Creative Director Stuart Vevers, the store will offer a wide range of products, including bags, leather goods, shoes, jewelry, watches, and sunwear. Highlights include a collaboration with Peanuts, a bag charm bracelet in collaboration with AMBUSH, and bags exclusive to this store and the flagship store.
This is the first store in Japan to feature Coach's new interior design concept. Developed by Vevers in collaboration with Studio Sofield, led by interior designer William Sofield, this new concept is themed around "modern luxury."
Distinct features include translucent glass blocks, the steel frame supporting them, and a bronze logo. The entrance hall, filled with natural light, has an open atrium, creating a sense of openness. Custom-made wool carpeting and mid-century furniture create a relaxed, residential atmosphere. The store showcases the lifestyle Coach proposes, while evoking a New York vibe.
In addition, the second floor will feature an in-store after-sales service (repair workshop), a first for Japan. Dedicated staff will be on-site to repair bags and leather accessories.
