It has been announced that the four-member rap group JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB will release their first major label album, "JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB," on March 10th.


JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB is a rap group that has attracted attention as a unique presence that works across the boundaries of the band and hip-hop scenes, having been selected as one of Spotify's "Early Noise" artists and performed at major festivals such as Summer Sonic and Fuji Rock. They made their major label debut in 2019 with the single "Shinsekai" from Sony Music.


This self-titled album is finally being released, just under two years after their major debut. Based on the theme of "Being Honest," the album traces back to their earliest musical experiences and is packed with everything that "Java" is today, with a total of 13 tracks.

It was also announced that a cover of ORANGE RANGE's classic song "*~Asterisk~," produced by NAOTO from the band the group greatly admires, will be released as a pre-release track from the album on February 17th. The collaboration between the two began when NAOTO was asked to remix "i&i" as the b-side of their major debut single "Shinsekai," and now they have reunited for this memorable first major album. The arrangement, which is a little different from the original, is sure to be a highlight as it was created because of "JABA" and the "current NAOTO."

The cover art for this album was also designed by Takahiro Yasuda, who also handles the group's artwork. The motif is a blueprint of the inside of a star, conveying the group's journey from its "core" to its growing layers. The tracks included, other than "*~Asterisk~", which has been announced as an advance release this time, will be announced at a later date, so keep an eye out for further updates.

◆JABBA DA FOOTBALL CLUB Profile
Formed in 2014. While still active as an indie band, they were selected as one of Spotify's "Early Noise" artists and performed as the first artists to appear at events, as well as at major festivals such as Summer Sonic, Fuji Rock, and Baycamp, and were also selected as Tower Records Recommends. They have become a unique presence that works across the boundaries of the band and hip-hop scenes.
In 2019, they released the EP "DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY" which included the song "i&i," which greatly expanded their musicality and reached new heights, and graduated from the label they had been with until then, OMAKE CLUB. After making their major debut with the single "Shinsekai" from Sony Music in June of the same year, they provided a song to Hypnosis Mic in December, which reached number one on the iTunes overall chart and Oricon chart. In March 2020, they released their latest single, "National Route 9," and members ROVIN and JUQI have been busy releasing solo works one after the other.
