Photographer Helmut Newton was born on October 31, 1920, in Berlin, Germany. Born into a wealthy Jewish family, Helmut bought a camera at the age of 12. He decided to become a photographer and began his career as an assistant to fashion photographer Else Simon. When anti-Semitic movements arose in Germany, he fled the country and obtained Australian citizenship in 1940. After the war, he began working as a freelance photographer, and his work was recognized by Vogue magazine. In 1961, he moved to Paris. His work was published in various magazines, including French Vogue, Playboy, and Marie Claire. However, after suffering a heart attack in 1971, his style changed dramatically. He began releasing erotic and pornographic works one after another, almost as if to release his own stress. He made a big impact on the industry by actively incorporating taboo subjects such as call girls and cross-dressing. His work included many portraits of celebrities and actresses, and in 1976 he published his first photo book, "White Women," which was the culmination of his work. This firmly established his presence in the industry.

He then went on to photograph Eri Ishida in the nude photo book "Sin" in 1993. He continued to work energetically into his later years, but died in a traffic accident in 2004. He was 83 years old at the time.
