A limited-time flower shop, AMKK (Azuma Makoto, Flower and Tree Research Institute), will open at the POOL Aoyama (1F Chateau Toyo Minami Aoyama, 5-12-24 Minami Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo), directed by Fujiwara Hiroshi, on July 5th. It will be open until August 31st. This is the second "THE TEMPORARY" themed project at the POOL Aoyama. AMKK is a fictional flower shop created by flower artist Azuma Makoto, who also runs the haute couture flower shop JARDINS des FLEURS in Minami Aoyama. The shop will feature plants collected across colors, seasons, and countries, and customers will be able to purchase flowers without making a reservation. This is Azuma's first time opening a limited-time flower shop. Born in 1976, Azuma began working as a flower artist in 2005, holding his first solo exhibition at Tribeca in New York that same year, and has since been active both in Japan and abroad. From 2007, he ran an exclusive private gallery called "AMPG" in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Tokyo for two years, and in 2009 founded the experimental plant collective AMKK. He has been actively creating flower arrangements in various locations, including Isetan Shinjuku and Roppongi Hills.
