The SS15 collection from tricot COMME des GARÇONS is cool and natural. Designer Kurihara Tao described the collection as expressing a "thin, airy, natural texture, and a dry impression of summer." In contrast to the lightness of the look, the models' makeup creates a dewy, sweaty look. Living in Japan, where the weather seems to be getting more tropical every year, perhaps due to abnormal weather or the heat island effect, this season's collection, embodying the "dry, cool summer," seems ideal. Natural textures are typified by off-white cotton-linen chambray and soft, gauze-like textiles. From a thin black ramie dress printed with lace, to a sheer floral organza set, gingham checks, and crocheted lace itself or printed with it, the collection's simple yet sophisticated expression is a delight to look at. The flared silhouette, which widens from the bustline, exudes a stoic and romantic atmosphere. The voluminous straw hats, like chef's hats, perched on the heads highlight the uniqueness of the collection. The overall look is kept to a subdued color palette, with off-white, gray, mocha, and black as the main colors.
