Swiss luxury watch brand TAG Heuer and German sports car manufacturer Porsche have announced a new partnership. Sharing common motorsport and racing DNA, the two brands have forged a strong partnership that will result in comprehensive, long-term collaboration spanning everything from racing to product development. The "Carrera" name for both brands comes from the 1950s Carrera Panamericana race, in which Porsche achieved its class victory in 1954. To celebrate this success, Porsche calls its most powerful engines "Carrera." In 1963, the first Heuer Carrera chronograph was released. It was designed to allow drivers to keep track of the time at a glance, even when they were engrossed in the action.
This groundbreaking timepiece, combined with Porsche's most powerful Carrera engine, unites Porsche and Heuer in the spirit of "Carrera" and "racing," embodying ambition, speed and technical excellence.
Based on the TAG Heuer Carrera Sport Chronograph, this watch features a unique tachymeter scale on the bezel and incorporates numerous design features inspired by the quintessential Porsche design. The bezel is engraved with Porsche, and the indexes use the brand's distinctive Porsche font. The red, black, and gray are Porsche colors and are reminiscent of Heuer's historic models. The asphalt texture on the dial perfectly expresses the brand's passion for the road, and the Arabic numerals are inspired by the numbers on the dashboards of Porsche's luxury sports cars.
The transparent crystal case back allows you to admire the movement components and watch them beat. The case back has been redesigned as a loving tribute to the famous Porsche steering wheel, and is printed with "Porsche" and "TAG Heuer."
At the heart of the timepiece is the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 movement, which offers a power reserve of approximately 80 hours. The chronograph mechanism's vertical clutch and column wheel embody the brand's unwavering pursuit of absolute precision.
