"COLOURISTIC!", an exhibition by Japanese-French designer Claudio Colucci, is being held at Hillside Forum & Gallery in Daikanyama, Tokyo, from March 5th to 10th. The exhibition features an installation of dozens of mushroom-like stands whose LED lights change color in sync with background music. The stands, large and small, light up in various colors in sync with five-minute music. Various lighting patterns are available, from flickering to dim glows. They express human personality, including breathing, whispering, conversation, and emotions. Colucci says, "When I usually work with clients, I design by considering how the users behind them live and feel. I want to change their minds and their lives. This exhibition freely expresses these everyday thoughts." Other exhibits at the venue include the "BENTO CLOCK," a wall clock modeled after a lunch box; the "Mage Wappa HANGER," a hanger decorated with shoji and kumiko patterns; and the "SQUEEZE," a Corian (artificial marble) lamp that represents a human figure, all made with a variety of colors and materials. There will also be a shop selling Colucci's products and a collection of his work.
