Following Trussardi's Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection show at Milan Fashion Week on February 27, 2013, the Trussardi Group announced the end of its two-year partnership with designer Umit Benan.
Benan spent his childhood in Istanbul and studied fashion at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy. He then studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London and Parsons School of Design in New York. In 2009, he launched his own eponymous brand. His second collection garnered attention when it won the "Who Is On Next?" Newcomer Award at Pitti Immagine Uomo, the world's largest men's fashion fair.
Benan has been designing Trussardi's men's and women's collections since the Spring/Summer 2012 season. His collections, which combine the history of the established brand with a young sensibility, have been highly praised. A successor has yet to be announced.
