The long-established Italian fashion house Trussardi is releasing a fragrance to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The Trussardi Uomo Eau de Toilette (30ml/5,250 yen, 50ml/7,350 yen, 100ml/10,185 yen), housed in a black bottle with a gold cap featuring the brand's emblem, features top notes of fresh Italian lemon and bergamot, followed by sophisticated clary sage and a woody fougere (French for "fern") finish with leather notes. The matching white-bodied Trussardi Donna Eau de Parfum (30ml/5,775 yen, 50ml/8,610 yen, 100ml/10,290 yen) features top notes of refreshing citrus fruits such as yuzu, followed by a middle note of white flowers, which transform into a rich fragrance of wood and vanilla.
The pink "Trussardi Delicate Rose" (30ml/5,145 yen, 50ml/7,560 yen, 100ml/9,240 yen) has top notes of yuzu, bamboo, and kumquat, softly enveloped by centifolia rose and jasmine. It is not only feminine, but also a light and refreshing rose scent.
The perfumers responsible for "Donna Eau de Parfum" and "Delicate Rose" were Natalie Lawson, who also worked on "Burberry Weekend for Women" and "Bvlgari Jasmine Veil." All three will be released on March 9th.
Trussardi was founded in 1911 as a manufacturer of luxury leather gloves in Bergamo, a city near Milan. Since the 1920s, the brand has been sold in luxury department stores around the world, including Harrods in London and Saks in New York, and has been appointed a purveyor to the British Royal Family. Since founder Dante Trussardi's grandson, Nicola Trussardi, took over, the brand has expanded its lineup to include leather goods such as bags and interior goods, offering a lifestyle-oriented approach. In 2011, the brand celebrated its 100th anniversary, Turkish designer Umit Benan, who also has his own label, was appointed creative director.
