A new sports watch is born, marking a new chapter in the Octo Finissimo, a symbol of Bvlgari's mechanical aesthetics.

Feb 1, 2021

Driven by passion and renowned for its excellence and artistry, Octo Finissimo redefines the design codes of modern sports watches, expressing the essence of contemporary masculinity. In 2021, three new models establish a new paradigm of performance-inspired style: the Octo Finissimo S, the Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT, and the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Titanium, featuring a new dial and rubber strap.

First introduced in 2014, the Octo Finissimo wowed with style and modernity with each new iteration. Across the entire series, which focuses on a minimalist, monochrome aesthetic, the ultra-thin octagonal design and its combination of round and square shapes inspired by the remarkable architecture of Rome unashamedly reference the established codes of traditional men's watches.

The design element that sets the Octo Finissimo apart is its thinness, which has led to six world records in six years: the world's thinnest tourbillon in 2014, the thinnest minute repeater in 2016, the thinnest automatic watch in 2017, the thinnest automatic tourbillon in 2018, the thinnest automatic chronograph in 2019, and the thinnest tourbillon chronograph in 2020. Its remarkable thinness is a unique feat of innovative technology and Swiss expertise, an astonishing feat of innovative watchmaking, a story of precision and determination powerful enough to trigger a paradigm shift in men's watchmaking.

The Octo Finissimo's unconventional approach extends not only to its aesthetic sense but also to its overall modern design, making the collection known for its use of unconventional materials such as titanium and ceramic.

Bvlgari designs have long been influenced by Estetica della Meccanica (the aesthetics of mechanism), the belief that superior functionality resides in beautiful form. The Octo Finissimo is the ultimate symbol of this design philosophy, and its innovative technology and mechanical expertise continue to inspire each new version.

With the new versions and features to be launched in 2021, the Octo Finissimo will further solidify its position as a 21st century watchmaking icon.

When the Octo Finissimo S was released in 2020, it took the luxury sports watch world by storm. Featuring the thinnest automatic movement and 100m water resistance, its stainless steel design measured just 6.4mm thin and featured a screw-down crown. Now, the Octo Finissimo S is available in a new monochrome version. This new stainless steel version features a 40mm satin-polished case with a silver vertical-brushed dial, combined with a bold brushed bezel for a strikingly contemporary look. This automatic manufacture watch features the ultra-thin BVL 138 caliber with a micro-rotor (2.23 mm), hours, minutes, and a small seconds dial at 7 o'clock. This luxury sports watch is water resistant to 100 meters and features a polished stainless steel crown set with ceramic.

This year, Bvlgari expands the Octo Finissimo S line with the introduction of the Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT, featuring an automatic manufacture chronograph and the ultra-thin GMT BVL 318 caliber with a peripheral rotor (3.30 mm thick). Combining sporty practicality with mechanical complexity, this thin, modern timepiece is crafted from satin-polished stainless steel and features a new blue sunray dial with silver counters for an even more sporty-chic look. A clever mechanism allows a second time zone to be displayed on a sub-counter at 3 o'clock. The octagonal case (8.75 mm thick) is presented on a 43 mm diameter, integrated stainless steel bracelet with vertical brushing and polished elements. The sand-blasted screw-down crown, larger than the previous model, increases water resistance to 100 meters, reaffirming the sporty character of the Octo Finissimo S line.

The new Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Titanium, released for 2021, features a new dial and rubber strap for a sportier look. This 42mm watch, considered a global automatic chronograph, features the ultra-thin BVL 318 automatic manufacture chronograph GMT caliber with a peripheral rotor (3.30mm), and is 6.9mm thick overall. Like the new Octo Finissimo S Chronograph GMT, it combines chronograph and GMT functions, allowing you to display two time zones at once. The new Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Titanium evolves the monochrome beauty of matte titanium, featuring a titanium case and black opaline dial that ensures lightness, strength, and corrosion resistance, and is paired with a textured rubber strap with a titanium pin buckle.

A distinctive presence in the men's watch world, the Octo Finissimo has always been renowned for its mechanical excellence and bold design. Now, Bvlgari unveils a luxurious sports model and unprecedented innovative technology, redefining and evolving it into an icon of 21st-century watchmaking.
