[2013-2014 AW Tokyo Collection] "Teeto" depicts the fantasy of a girl who travels between the boundaries of reality and fantasy

Mar 21, 2013

tiit's 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection show was held at Shibuya Hikarie on March 19th. Designers Sho Iwata and Hiroshi Takizawa. The theme was "Garden." The collection was inspired by Terry Gilliam's film "Rose in Tideland," which depicts the protagonist's resilient life as she navigates between reality and fantasy after the death of her drug-addicted parents. Starting with a girly white knit dress with a high neckline, the collection moved on to fantastical designs such as checked cardigans and organza blouses in pale tones such as yellow, pink, green, and beige, white floral dresses, and shorts. Checkered flocked prints on thin, high-tech materials such as micro organza created a vague, dreamy atmosphere. "In a world where we are overwhelmed with information and tend to stop thinking for ourselves, I found the image of a young girl who is able to think for herself and use her imagination to be appealing, and I incorporated that image into my clothes," Iwata said after the show.
