[Paris Report] Cartier unveils new collection with seven themes inspired by modern Parisian women

Mar 17, 2013

Cartier unveiled its new "Paris Nouvelle Vague" collection during Paris Fashion Week. The collection features designs evocative of Art Deco, featuring a gradation of different stones, and exquisitely crafted designs that delicately capture the sparkle of a river. Based on the theme of seven moods evoked by modern Parisians, the designs incorporate scenes from Paris, such as the Opera House, the Moulin Rouge, and the Tuileries Gardens. The new collection also includes a revival and arrangement of the collection of the same name, released in 1999, embodying Parisian tradition and innovation. "This collection embodies the strong bond between Paris and Cartier. It's been a long time since we've seen such a wide range of items presented at one time," said a Cartier spokesperson. The full collection will be released in May, with a limited-time release in June and a nationwide boutique launch in September. A seven-part movie was also created for the collection. The film depicts Cartier's proposal to incorporate high jewellery into everyday life.
