Jewelry designer Nana Watanabe creates "wearable art" using embroidery and fabric. Inspired by the shapes of the sea and nature, she weaves together unique jewelry with delicate embroidery and three-dimensional forms.

One of her signature works, the "Shrimps" series, features soft organza embroidered and then transformed into three-dimensional pieces through origami-like folding and heat treatment. The translucent egg-like details incorporated into the abdomen give the pieces a light, poetic presence. The fusion of precise techniques and humorous shapes is emblematic of her creative approach.

The brand "NANA WATANABE" is based on the theme of "imaginary paradise," and offers textile jewelry that reflects the rich colors and beautiful shapes of nature in its embroidery. Rather than relying on expensive precious metals and gems, the brand pursues ethical and light beauty by incorporating recycled materials. Holding their pieces makes your heart flutter, and wearing them makes you smile...they cherish this sense of happiness.

After working on the design team at ISSEY MIYAKE, Watanabe went independent and is currently based in Fujisawa. She actively participates in exhibitions and museum events both in Japan and abroad, and has attracted attention as a presence that straddles the boundaries of art, fashion, and sustainability. In recent years, she has also been focusing on delicate use of colors that reflect Japanese aesthetics, and expressions that make use of natural materials.

More than her internationally acclaimed and award-winning work, Nana Watanabe's true value lies in her continued push into the possibilities of wearable art through jewelry that brightens the everyday and soothes the soul. Her pieces transcend mere decoration, becoming like small sculptures that illuminate the wearer's inner self.
