A must-see for Spotify free users! Unlimited on-demand playback and automatic playback of songs shared on social media are now available

Music streaming service Spotify has further improved the listening experience for domestic users of its free plan.


With this update, users in Japan using the free plan for Spotify will be able to play their favorite songs in any order, anytime, without time limits, on their PCs, tablets, compatible PlayStation® devices, and other game consoles. What's more, songs shared on Spotify via messaging apps or social media can now be automatically played once every 24 hours.

Details of this update are as follows:


1. On-demand playback with no time limits on PCs, tablets, compatible PlayStation® devices, etc.

Free plan users can now enjoy their favorite songs in any order, anytime, without time limits, on PCs, tablets, compatible PlayStation® devices, and other game consoles. On mobile, you can continue to enjoy songs in shuffle play as before.


2. On-demand playback of songs shared via messaging apps and social media

When a song on Spotify is shared with you via messaging apps or social media, you can now play that song on-demand up to once every 24 hours. If you try to play the same song again within 24 hours, you will be presented with the option to shuffle the radio containing that song, as before.
