The "Katsuya Terada: Recent 10 Years" exhibition opens at the Kyoto International Manga Museum on March 16th. This exhibition showcases the work of manga artist and illustrator Katsuya Terada over the past decade, showcasing approximately 300 pieces, including original drawings, illustrations for manga and novels, illustrations for games, and character designs. The exhibition will also feature a section showcasing Terada's creative ingenuity, including a screening of a video documenting his creative process, as well as talk shows and live drawing events. The audience will be attended by editor and exhibition producer Ito Gabin. Katsuya Terada has long been a pioneer in the digital art industry, drawing with computers and pen tablets. His style, which combines elements of Western comics such as those of French manga artist Moebius and film director Enki Bilal with the lines and shading of traditional Japanese painting, has garnered many fans both in Japan and abroad. He has worked on manga such as "Journey to the West: The Monkey King" and "The Camel Laughs," as well as character design for the game "Bushin" and creature design for the movie "Yatterman." In recent years, he has illustrated novels such as "Gasoline Life," which was serialized in the Asahi Shimbun evening edition by Kotaro Isaka, and has exhibited at the "Future Life Morphology Diagram" exhibition at the Shinjuku Takashimaya Art Gallery and the "Cats and Dragons" exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
