To celebrate the first anniversary of the remodeling of the main building's 5th floor living room, Isetan Shinjuku will be holding a collaborative project called "Colors of Spring" between two leading ceramic artists, Mutsumi Kagoshima and Yumiko Iihoshi, from March 2nd to 8th, and will be releasing ceramics exclusive to Isetan Mitsukoshi.
The newly created items feature asymmetrically shaped base vessels decorated with motifs such as fish, birds, and flowers, with Kagoshima in charge of the design and techniques, and Iihoshi in charge of the sculptural design. The glazes and colors were selected jointly and then crafted by Arita potters.
In addition, products featuring designs and motifs by the two artists will also be available during the event. The lineup includes Kagoshima posters (2,500 yen) with adorable animal and plant illustrations, Kurume Kasuri cushions (4,000 yen), mobiles (6,000 yen), and Iihoshi pottery, which has gained immense support for its simple and warm pieces, including plates (4,000 yen) and bowls (5,000 yen).In addition, limited edition products featuring Kagoshima motifs will be released in collaboration with Papabubble, a pop candy originating in Barcelona.
