The Shinjuku Isetan Kids Floor Remodels for the First Year. This Spring's Hottest Trends and "Living Room Learning" Goods Now Available

Mar 2, 2016
The Isetan Shinjuku Main Building's sixth-floor baby and children's section, which celebrated its first anniversary since its remodeling last year, is packed with a variety of events starting March 2nd. We'd like to introduce some of the hottest topics and highlight some recommended items for spring.

■The Most Popular "Re-Style Kids"
Apparel

The "Re-Style Kids" section, a self-edited section that expanded with the remodel, is even more powerful now, 11 years after its launch. The lineup of T-shirts, a summer staple, focuses on pop and colorful designs, including the kiryuyrik x roar emblem-print T-shirt (12,000 yen). Dresses, a must-have item for girls, include highly designed items such as the adorable landscape print dress (63,000 yen) by tago with its wing-shaped lace hem, and the lace-trimmed sweatshirt dress (13,000 yen) by LUGHA POCKET. Also, from March 30th, limited edition denim-themed items by Japanese designers such as SUPERTHANKS and DIET BUTCHER SLIM SKIN will be on sale.

■Baby items with meticulous design also available
Baby

The maternity and newborn shop will be introducing "KISETTE designed by MUVEIL," a collaboration between Mitsukoshi Isetan's private brand KISETTE and MUVEIL. Eye-catching items will be on sale, including a cardigan (12,000 yen) featuring an appliqué of a monkey hanging from a tree, bloomers (5,900 yen) with eye-catching embroidered watermelon seeds, and a fruit bib (3,900 yen) featuring a mix of bananas and watermelons. There will also be items with a more mature look, such as a denim-style dress (15,000 yen).

■Add a touch of style to your lessons
Bag

New lesson bags are also being proposed, with a focus on the unique learning needs of children. There are designs that will delight both adults and children, such as the eye-catching tote bag (7,500 yen) with its simple design unique to mina perhonen, featuring butterflies fluttering around adorable flowers, and the MSGM Kids tote bag (9,000 yen) featuring a colorful bird taking flight. Orobianco and PMW MFG also offer high-quality bags that rival those for adults.

■A collection of stylish study and living items

Living

Re-Style Kids Living Style, which will be held at West Park/The Stage #6 from March 2nd to 8th, will focus on "living room learning," which has been gaining attention in recent years, and will offer highly fashionable designs in collaboration with designers and artists. The store stocks items that adults and children can enjoy spending time together in the living room, such as a desk and chair (90,000 yen) by KOMA×mintdesigns, which uses textiles by mintdesigns, a flower-shaped cushion (7,000 yen) also by mintdesigns, and a tidying box (9,500 yen) by cokitica.

These items can also be viewed in the digital catalogue.
