On June 4th, CHANEL held its 2013-2014 METIERS D'ART collection show at the soon-to-open Toranomon Hills (1-23-1-4 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo). The venue, a hall on the fifth floor of the facility's Mori Tower, was decorated with an interior reminiscent of a Texas saloon from the Wild West era, in keeping with the collection's "Wild West" theme. Evocative photographs and a billiards table were also featured. Guests watched the show from sofas and counter seats. Japanese models such as Mona Matsuoka and Chiharu appeared on the runway, along with familiar faces from CHANEL shows like Lindsey Wixson. Guests also included artist Sputniko!, model Yu Yamada, actress Fumi Nikaido, and models Jerry Hall and Alice Dellal.
The Médiédart collection is a ready-to-wear collection made with an abundance of embroidery and feather decorations by artisans at Chanel's ateliers. It is unveiled every December, themed around a city associated with Chanel.
This will be Chanel's first show in Tokyo in two years, since the 12SS Haute Couture collection in March 2012.
