MM6 Maison Margiela opened its first flagship store in Japan, "MM6 Maison Margiela Omotesando," on the first floor of Omotesando Hills on March 18th. The store offers the full lineup of this season's collection, as well as shoes, accessories, and bags. The entrance is covered in matte silver concrete tiles, and the flooring features a gradation that changes from metallic silver brushed paint to oak wood. Damask flocked print on the walls, black coconut matting, and birch wood panels add unique accents. Randomly stacked white cube box fixtures and fringed leather curtains in the fitting area create a contemporary atmosphere. To commemorate the opening, a digital installation using projections will be held in the atrium staircase space inside Omotesando Hills from March 18th to 26th. Based on the 2016 Spring/Summer collection show held in London, the installation will communicate the brand's identity and philosophy as it undergoes change and evolution, incorporating archive visuals.
