BATOMA & holiday "HOLIDAY MARKET," a collaboration between BATOMA, which plans a variety of events that celebrate interior design, and holiday, a creative unit that handles art direction and catering, focusing on food and art, will be held at PASS THE BATON in Omotesando, Tokyo, from March 24th to April 17th.
The exhibition will focus on "deadstock" and "discounted items" such as glass and ceramics that lie dormant in the warehouses of various manufacturers. Visitors will be able to choose their favorite glasses and plates from long-established glass manufacturers that are no longer in production, and have them packed into original tote bags. Other items on sale will include ceramic tableware that has been given new life by applying artwork to items that have been discarded due to minor scratches or distortions, or items in stock that would otherwise not be able to see the light of day.
A workshop called "Take an Eye at the Stock Items" (2,500 yen) will be held on March 24th and 26th and April 9th from 11am to 2pm, 3pm to 6pm, and 7pm to 9pm, and on April 10th from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm. You can choose your favourite ceramic item from the stock that has been sleeping in the back of the warehouse and create your own original mug or plate by pasting on sheets with facial features, illustrations, alphabets and more.
