Olympia Le-Tan presented its 2016-17 autumn/winter collection in a presentation format at Galerie Perrotin in Paris.
Emmanuel Perrotin was the first gallerist to introduce Takashi Murakami to Europe, and the invitation featured an illustration of Manet's "Olympia" by Olympia's father, Pierre Le-Tan, featuring Murakami's characters.
Basic and authentic items such as shirt dresses, painter-style overalls, vintage-style tweed coats and corduroy suits were paired with items featuring embroidered paint tube motifs and prints of works by artists such as David Hockney and Pablo Picasso. Other items that added to the glamour and edge of the collection were clutch bags embroidered with works by Giorgio de Chirico and Sandro Botticelli, handbags embroidered with paint splatters, socks in different colours, and lace-up high heels made from the same fabric as the clothes in collaboration with Christian Louboutin. They were not just cute, but also conveyed the depth and strength of the inspiration.
Also, jewelry designer and socialite Sabine Getty appeared as a model alongside Olympia's younger sister Cleo, which also generated a lot of buzz.
