What kind of music makes delicious bread and coffee taste even better? BGM supervised by Maison Kayser is now available digitally

Dec 24, 2020
Maison Kayser, a bakery that adheres to traditional French baking methods, has overseen the release of the CD "BREAD, COFFEE & MUSIC for Bien-etre" in October, with the theme of "Music that makes delicious bread and coffee even more delicious." This CD was created with the desire to bring an extra layer of happiness to the dining table with bread and coffee through music, and is comprised of a selection of songs inspired by the background music played in Maison Kayser stores. In addition to general CD shops, the "bread and CD" set is currently being sold at Maison Kayser's Shirokane Takanawa main store and other select stores, and has been well received. A digital download of a selection of the songs included is scheduled to begin on December 30th.

This work is a joint project between Boulangerie Eric Kayser Japon, which operates Maison Kayser, and Incense Music Works, which produces Maison Kayser's in-store background music, and will be released by Incense Music Works on October 28th.

Since its founding in 2000, Boulangerie Eric Kayser Japon has operated under the philosophy of "introducing a lifestyle with bread rooted in French food culture" and "being a place where people can share happy meals with bread." The store also operates a cafe and restaurant, centered around the bakery Maison Kayser. One of the key features of its store space is music. The music, centered around French music, is chosen to create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for customers to choose bread and enjoy coffee and a meal. This CD was planned with the idea that you can take home the background music from Maison Kayser and "share a happy meal with bread" at home. The album contains a selection of soothing music, mainly French music, jazz, lounge music, acoustic music, and more.

The CD jacket uses a photo of bread produced at the main store in Shirokane Takanawa. The CD subtitle, "Bien-être," is French for "happiness." The packaging is designed to convey the message of "a happy dining table with bread."

A digital download album featuring an even more carefully selected selection of tracks from the CD will also be available on December 30th. The jacket features a cut-out of the CD jacket and a scene of bread and coffee, posted on Maison Kayser's Instagram, suggesting a new way to enjoy this music.
