"COMME des CARRÉS," a limited-edition collection featuring HERMÈS' signature scarf, designed by COMME des GARÇONS designer Rei Kawakubo, will be available from February 6th.
This collaboration was made possible when Hermès's artistic director for women's wear, Bali Barre, asked Kawakubo to "bring her own unique vision to the scarf." The collection features two styles: "Black & White" and "Color." Both feature new graphics overlaid on Hermès scarf designs.
"Black & White" is a collection of five scarf styles expressed in the black and white world characteristic of COMME des GARÇONS. The absence of color allows abstract graphics to emerge. The collection will be available exclusively at COMME des GARÇONs stores in Tokyo's Aoyama district, New York, and Paris. "Color" features six types of scarves with colorful geometric patterns. Rectangles, giant patchwork, gingham, stripes, and more are mixed together to create a design that redefines the traditional world of scarves. These scarves will be sold exclusively at Dover Street Market Comme des Garçons in London and Tokyo's Ginza district. The release schedule will vary around the world, with Paris, New York, and Tokyo releasing the scarves in that order from February 6th to 8th, before being released in London on the 12th. Both collections will be available until March 31st. The collections will also be available at the Dover Street Market online store, where "Color" will be available from February 6th and "Black & White" from April 1st.
