Exploring the evolving dress code of the established establishment: Louis Vuitton presents Virgil Abloh's Fall/Winter 2021 Men's Pre-Collection

Louis Vuitton presents Virgil Abloh's Fall/Winter 2021 Men's Pre-Collection.

After an era of progress comes an era of integration. A new normal—a new everyday life—is here. Through the Fall/Winter 2021 Men's Pre-Collection, Louis Vuitton explores the evolving dress codes of the established order. Ordinariness comes with virtue—a wardrobe inspired by traditional tailoring, inherited by some and coveted by others. In an effort to transform codes that represent elitism into symbols of inclusivity, Men's Artistic Director Virgil Abloh explores what it means to conform to existing notions of luxury and what it means in a post-2020 society. Underpinning old codes with new values, this collection expresses the comfort of progressive habits for all. A new chapter begins, reinterpreting the daily wardrobe against the backdrop of a new world order.

The suit, a symbol of workwear in the new normal, is presented in a boxy silhouette. Tailoring that evokes a sense of contemporary adaptability—a playful take on men's wardrobe staples this season: a suit boldly and effortlessly featuring a tie-dye galaxy Monogram motif, a coat reimagined in asymmetrical Monogram leather, and a peacoat with the Maison's name embossed in high-tech along the sleeve. Hooded and zippered jackets and denim suiting offer new shapes, while decorative evening cords make a subtle statement through mid-layers. For casual wear, Damier Salt adds a touch of classic motif and unique texture to traditional wardrobe staples like blousons, cardigans, and shirts.
