Louis Vuitton unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 women's collection. This time, the setting was the Louvre Museum, where Anne of Austria, Queen of France, once spent her summers. The Maison used this historic space to present a collection celebrating intimacy and private freedom, based on the theme of "art de vivre (aesthetics of living)."

A new luxury of intimacy
This season's looks by Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière are full of bold ideas that overturn the notion of the indoor wardrobe. Combining the lightness of loungewear with the precision of tailoring, they embody the Maison's belief that clothes worn for oneself are the ultimate luxury. These are not "clothes to show off," but luxury that allows one to refine one's inner self and communicate with oneself.

The looks, constructed as a "journey through one's own apartment," are narrated by the clothes themselves, as if to proclaim the freedom of individual perspective and style. As the boundaries between the everyday and the extraordinary, and the private and the public, blur, Louis Vuitton's new "aesthetics of intimacy" emerges.

A dialogue between art and space that resonates across time
The venue was designed by Marie-Anne Delvire, a stage artist and designer. She carefully selected works from different eras, such as 18th-century furniture maker Georges Jacob, 1930s work by Michel Duffay, and 19th-century ceramist Pierre-Adrien Dalperat, and harmonized them together with her own furniture to create a space reminiscent of an apartment where French aesthetics intersect across time. Visitors were invited on an immersive journey through "French taste" from the 18th century to the present day.

In addition, music composed by Tanguy d'Estable was played throughout the venue, and actress Cate Blanchett recited a poem from David Byrne's (Talking Heads) classic "This Must Be the Place." The visual and auditory aspects of the performance were impressive, quietly conveying the "beauty of living."

This collection goes beyond mere fashion; it is "art de vivre dressing." Under Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton has evolved luxury from something to be seen by others to a testament to one's inner sensibilities.
