Gucci has collaborated with The North Face to create the "The North Face x Gucci Collection."
The collection consists of a wide range of categories for men and women, including apparel, soft accessories, luggage, shoes, and even outdoor products with The North Face's signature functionality, such as tents and sleeping bags.
In Japan, the collection will be available for pre-sale from January 6, 2021, at Gucci Pin, a limited-time shop located in two locations in Tokyo and Osaka. Entry for one week from the release date will be by reservation only. Reservations for admission will be accepted from the evening of December 23rd via Gucci's official LINE account (https://line.me/R/ti/p/%40gucci_jp). Pre-sales by lottery will be held on Gucci's official online shop from January 8th, 2021.
The THE NORTH FACE x GUCCI collection is based on the environmental conservation efforts of both brands.
The main material of the luggage is made from ECONYL® (nylon yarn made from fishing nets, old carpets, and other waste materials), and by using nylon that can be recycled over and over again, the burden on the ecosystem and the environment is reduced.
The color palette of the products was inspired by The North Face's material library from the 1970s. Fabrics that had been sleeping in the archives have also been reproduced for some items, breathing new life into them.
Products from this collection also come in special packaging featuring the "THE NORTH FACE x GUCCI" logo in bright pink. The garment cases, shopping bags, boxes, and storage pouches are all designed with environmental considerations in mind at every stage of production. All paper and cardboard materials are also sourced from sustainably managed forests and are uncoated, making them 100% recyclable.
Also noteworthy are the boxes with handles, which allow for easy transport without the need for a shopping bag, in order to reduce paper usage. Larger products will be sold in cotton covers and shopping bags, eliminating the need for boxes. We can't wait for their release!
