IDEE hosts "Made in America" exhibition featuring carefully selected items from the West Coast. Introducing works by California-based artists.

Feb 5, 2013

IDEE is holding its "Made in America" exhibition until February 28th, showcasing vintage furniture and miscellaneous goods purchased in Los Angeles and Portland. Handcrafts by two California-based artists will be on display and for sale.

The Jiyugaoka store features works by Stan Bitters, a California-based sculptor with a passionate following in the United States. This time, we've gathered vintage birdhouses, one of Stan's signature pieces, which he still produces today. Each one has its own unique shape and color, making them perfect for hanging from a eaves to attract birds, or as decorative objects.

The Tokyo Midtown store will feature works by Heather Levine, a ceramicist who creates a wide range of items, from pendant lamps to tableware. This time, we'll be showcasing wall hangings made from recycled clay pieces and driftwood. These items can be hung on the wall or from the ceiling, exuding a Californian flair.

Interior stylist Chinatsu Kambayashi participated in the purchasing for this exhibition. She will also be showcasing her latest carefully selected items. Kanbayashi runs the design firm Jamo Associates together with Norito Takahashi. She has designed many fashion shops, including OPENING CEREMONY, THE CONTEMPORARY FIX, Ron Herman, and LOVELESS. She is also in charge of the shop design and purchasing of miscellaneous goods for ELFORBR, a new brand from SAZABY LEAGUE that will be launched this spring.
