Jan 30, 2013

IDEE Cafe Parc in Tokyo Midtown is collaborating with Miranda July's new film, "The Future." They're selling a "Rare Cheesecake with Four Fruit Sauces" (¥500) designed to resemble the moon from the film, and limited-edition pop T-shirts (¥3,150/available in two colors) featuring an illustration of the film's cat, Paw Paw, along with a photo exhibition. "The Future," which opened in theaters on January 19, is directed, written, and stars Miranda July, who won the Cannes Best New Director Award for "The Rainbow," and is also active as a novelist and contemporary artist. The film tells the story of a 35-year-old woman living with her husband who, in the 30 days leading up to the arrival of her injured cat, Paw Paw, quits her job and takes a step toward discovering "the future" in order to take action she's been putting off.
