Mihara Yasuhiro's pop-up event is the color of butterflies. A spin-off of his Paris presentation.

Feb 20, 2013

A pop-up shop featuring MIHARAYASUHIRO's 2013 Spring/Summer women's collection opened on February 20th at Center Park on the 3rd floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store. It will be open until the 25th.

This season's theme is "Color of Butterfly." The collection, created in collaboration with Bette Ridgeway, who paints with flowing colors, features vibrant butterfly-like colors. The walls covering the venue display part of the installation presented during Paris Fashion Week. Art video works showcasing this season's images as an exhibition, along with butterfly specimens, are on display.

Bette Ridgeway is a contemporary artist based in the United States. She won the Art Prize at the Chiciano International Art Awards in Italy in 2012 and was invited to exhibit at the London Biennale of Arts in January 2013. The shop also carries knitwear, shirts, T-shirts, pants, tote bags, clutch bags, scarves and other items from the 2013 Spring/Summer men's collection, a collaboration with Jun Inoue. The collection is unisex and can be worn by both women and men. Jun Inoue is a painting artist known for his abstract lines, which express the unique Japanese "space" and flow that are reminiscent of calligraphy.
