BOUL'ANGE, the original boulangerie run by Flavor Works Inc., a part of the Bay Cruise Group, will be selling new products using hojicha from Nakamura Tokichi Honten in Uji, Kyoto, from December 26th.

As the cold winter weather deepens, the new products will feature a lineup of six flavorful products using hojicha from Nakamura Tokichi Honten, a long-established tea merchant in Uji, Kyoto. The Hojicha Croissant, an adaptation of the most popular Croissant, is made by rolling white chocolate into croissant dough that's generously flavored with hojicha tea. Other treats include the Hojicha Kouign Aman, White Chocolate and Yuzu Hojicha Bread, and Hojicha Viennois with Orange Milk Cream, all of which combine the fragrant aroma of hojicha with the elegantly sweet accents of white chocolate and citrus fruits.

Also available will be the traditional French pastry "Galette des Rois," which is popular every year. This year, new flavors will be added, including plain and one with roasted green tea added to the dough. Both flavors feature a flaky pie crust filled with a generous amount of almond cream flavored with orange liqueur and rum. If you purchase a whole fève, you will receive an original fève made in Arita ware.

Hojicha Croissant 280 yen
A croissant made with hojicha from Nakamura Tokichi Honten in Uji, Kyoto, sandwiched with white chocolate.


White Chocolate and Yuzu Hojicha Bread 1 loaf 600 yen / Half loaf 300 yen
Bour Ange's classic "Honey Bread" is mixed with hojicha powder from Nakamura Tokichi Honten in Uji, Kyoto, yuzu peel, and white chocolate.


Hojicha Viennois with Orange Milk Cream 280 yen
Orange milk cream (with peel) is sandwiched between viennois dough made with roasted green tea from Nakamura Tokichi Honten in Uji, Kyoto.


Hojicha Kouign Amann 180 yen
White chocolate ganache is wrapped in croissant dough made with roasted green tea from Nakamura Tokichi Honten in Uji, Kyoto.

A generous amount of homemade almond cream and marron glacé, flavored with orange liqueur and rum, is wrapped in puff pastry made with hojicha from Nakamura Tokichi Honten in Uji, Kyoto, and baked.

When you purchase a whole "Galette des Rois (Plain)" or "Galette des Rois (Hojicha)", you will receive an original BOUL’ANGE fève and crown as a gift. The fève is made of Arita ware and features the brand logo, making it a limited edition item.
*To prevent accidental ingestion, the fève will be served separately.

What is BOUL’ANGE?


"BOUL‘ANGE" was launched in June 2017 as Baycrew's first original boulangerie, and currently has 11 stores nationwide. (As of September 24, 2020) The specialty bread bearing the store's name comes in two varieties: "Pain de mie “Boul”", which is for toasting only, and "Pain de mie “Ange”", which is for eating raw. In addition, we offer a wide range of items that can be enjoyed for any occasion, including our most popular croissant, which sells 2,000 pieces a day.
