Art director and graphic designer Koichi Tominuki's first solo exhibition, "Double A Side," will be held at GALLERY SPEAK FOR in Daikanyama from March 1st. Approximately 40 artworks, each 31.5cm square, the size of a vinyl record, created specifically for the exhibition will be on display and for sale. Original items such as catalogs, T-shirts, and letter sets will also be available. A gallery talk by Tominuki will also be held on the first day. The exhibition title, inspired by the double-sided structure of a vinyl record, incorporates the meanings of "side A," which offers a bird's-eye view of what Tominuki has done on square canvases over the past 10 years as a freelancer, and "the other side," which expresses his self-expression as an artist. Tominuki was born in San Francisco, USA in 1969. After working at Sony Music Communications, he founded ROOTS LLC, where he mainly works on CD jacket designs in the music and video fields. He has worked on designs for numerous artists, including Suga Shikao, Hakase Taro, Miyamoto Eri, Angela Aki, Clementine, and Hajime Chitose.
