
The ReStyle shopper has been updated in conjunction with the remodeling of the fashion floor on the third floor of the Isetan Shinjuku store. The "ReStyle" logo has also been revamped, featuring the font "Book," created by Swiss typography duo David Kechaveli and Julien Tavelli. The art direction was handled by Muneta Hashizume. "Just as 'selection' is a key theme of ReStyle's sales floor, we felt that making the act of choosing the key to our direction, rather than creating something from scratch, would be an important part of our branding. While David and Julien use a program to automatically generate fonts, they also value traditional analog production processes. We commissioned them to create the logo because we felt their approach of finding a way to create something rather than starting from scratch was ideal for this project. If it were simply a matter of creating a new logo, the process would be completed in an instant using a computer. Ultimately, the important aspect of design is the communication that leads to the visuals being deployed in various situations, and the story behind that." The shoppers come in three colors: white, gray, and silver, and three sizes: large, medium, and small. The ReStyle logo is embossed in silver on the bottom left. A silver seal is also available, featuring the new R and S font.
