ERMANNO SCERVINO's Spring/Summer 2015 collection was presented at the Italian Embassy on November 18th. The venue, overlooking a garden of autumn leaves, was blessed with beautiful sunny weather, and designer Ermanno Scervino, who was visiting Japan, was in high spirits, commenting, "After constant rain in Florence and Milan before my visit, it feels amazing to be able to present my collection in Tokyo on a clear autumn day." The SS15 collection, described as "a collection for women who enjoy both daytime and evening wear," features a glamorous lineup that is characteristic of Scervino, combining light, tropical spring-like materials like raffia and linen canvas with lace. One coat features a lustrous, soft raffia called stuoia, inspired by the Japanese "mat," joined with tulle lace, while other pieces feature Alta Moda techniques such as chenille macramé. The venue was decked out in a luxurious collection of white, off-white, turquoise, green, denim blue, and black.
"I'd really like to enjoy Japan a little more, but I have to make a quick return trip to Italy to prepare for the Milan Men's collection, which will be presented in January next year," Ermanno said with a sad laugh as he left the venue.
