MUJI HOUSE Co., Ltd., operator of MUJI House, will open the Tokyo Ariake House Center within MUJI Tokyo Ariake, the largest MUJI store in the Kanto region, which will have its grand opening on December 3, 2020, and will unveil life-size model homes for the detached house "Hikari no Ie" and the fully renovated "INFILL 0." This will be the first location in Japan where visitors can simultaneously tour MUJI HOUSE's model homes for both its detached houses and renovation projects.

The MUJI store "MUJI Tokyo Ariake," which will have its grand opening on December 3rd, will be involved in all aspects of daily life, from food such as rice and fresh vegetables, and everyday items such as spoons and socks, to room renovations, detached house sales, and even neighborhood revitalization. The store aims to help realize a "comfortable life and society" for those living near the store.
MUJI HOUSE will be exhibiting its single-story product "Hikari no Ie" and a model home for its full renovation service "INFILL 0" within the store.

About Exhibiting in Large MUJI Stores
Exhibiting in large MUJI stores in Tokyo's Ariake area not only attracts many visitors thanks to the convenience of in-store viewing, but also contributes to further increasing awareness. We view this as an important base for understanding customer trends, which will serve as the basis for future marketing activities.
As housing values change dramatically due to the spread of COVID-19, "Hikari no Ie" will promote the new lifestyle that connects with the garden, unique to single-story homes, as well as their versatility and functional rationality, and will promote sales of single-story homes, which are in high demand. We deliberately built a single-story model home closest to the ground in an area of Tokyo lined with high-rise apartment buildings, in order to promote this proposal for a lifestyle connected to the outdoors.
We will also respond to the growing need for dual residences and relocation to rural areas, as well as the construction of second homes in the Kanto region. For the first time, MUJI HOUSE will be showcasing a model home the size of an apartment building at "INFILL 0." This will allow customers to easily experience MUJI's renovation philosophy.
Customers in the early stages of building their home who want to consider what type of home is best for them can view both detached and renovated model homes, providing one-stop consultations.

About the exhibited products
[Detached House: Hikari no Ie]
"Hikari no Ie" is MUJI's first single-story house. While pursuing the essential performance required of a home, such as earthquake resistance and insulation, it features full-opening sashes that open to the garden and an interior and exterior design that emphasizes the texture of wood. The standard specification for the insulation of the exterior walls is double insulation, combining external insulation and filled insulation, and the insulation performance achieves a UA value of 0.40, which is in line with the energy-saving standard value for 2013 (UA value: 0.87). (Figure for this model building)
In addition, due to its excellent design, the building was selected as one of the Good Design Award Best 100 for 2020.
