Reebok will open a special museum to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the brand's iconic "The Pump Technology." The museum will be exhibited at Shinjuku Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line from November 24th to 30th, and at the former Hourglass Square in Osaka Station City from December 19th to 21st.
The 24th marks the day 25 years ago when the basketball shoe "The Pump" was released. Giant Pump button sculptures will be lined up at the front of the museum, while inside, past Reebok Classic models equipped with "The Pump Technology" will be on display. Fans will surely want to see the rare archive models, including "The Pump" from its 1989 release and the "Instapump Fury" from its 1994 release. An original badge is attached to the inside of the bag for you to take home (while supplies last), and by calling the number on the back of the badge you can hear anniversary messages from 25 celebrities with ties to Reebok Classic, including Kiko Mizuhara and VERBAL, as well as sneaker-loving talent.
In addition, a complete reproduction of the original 1989 model will be released on November 28th. Available in sizes 23 to 30cm, in two colors, for 21,000 yen. It will be available at Reebok's online shop, direct stores, mita sneakers, atmos Harajuku, and more.
