MUJI holds "Music of the Earth" exhibition. Talks with Peter Barakan, Hiroshi Eguchi and others

Nov 14, 2014

MUJI will be holding the "Music of the Earth" exhibition at its ATELIER MUJI in Yurakucho from November 21st to March 1st.
Since its opening, MUJI has used original music by Japanese musicians as background music in its stores. In 2001, the company moved away from "MUJI Music" and instead focused on "MUJI Music," pursuing the comforting qualities of traditional music that has become part of everyday life. Over the past 14 years, the company has compiled a CD collection of music deeply rooted in the lives of people around the world. As of September, the collection includes 19 titles.
At this music exhibition, the company will unveil its "BGM+" series, featuring music by musicians the company has interacted with during its travels. The venue will also host a talk event on the theme of folk music, exploring music deeply rooted in everyday life from various perspectives.

The guests for the talk events will be Eguchi Hiroshi, Kurasho Satoshi, Tsuruoka Mayumi, Shimizu Sanae, Iori Yutaka, Kashiwagi Hiroshi, Ishikawa Naoki, and Peter Barakan. It will be held over six sessions starting from November 27th.
