Staycation is a Western-originated word derived from the combination of "stay" and "vacation." It refers to a trip where you enjoy an extraordinary experience at home or nearby, rather than spending your vacation on a long-distance trip such as overseas. It is gaining attention in the COVID-19 era as a way to refresh without having to travel far.

From Former Kiyomizu Elementary School to Heritage Hotel
Founded in 1869 (Meiji 2) as the 27th Shimogyo Elementary School, Kiyomizu Elementary School closed its doors in 2010 (Heisei 22) after 141 years of history. Subsequently, as part of a plan to utilize the former Kiyomizu Elementary School site, the historic building was preserved and utilized, converted into the current hotel, and reborn as The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu, based on the concept of "engraving memories and connecting to the future."
