Fender Music Japan Co., Ltd. will be selling a limited number of URUSHI STRATOCASTER(R), which uses lacquer, a traditional Japanese paint, from November 19th.

The URUSHI STRATOCASTER is a model released as part of the 2020 AUTUMN/WINTER collection of the LIMITED COLLECTION series, which showcases Fender's cutting-edge technology and relentless pursuit of new manufacturing techniques, made in Japan.
The URUSHI STRATOCASTER, created in collaboration with Yusuke Iwahara of Miku Urushi Kogei, a renowned lacquer craftsman who won the Special Jury Prize at the 53rd National Lacquerware Exhibition, was designed based on profiling data from a USA-made guitar, with the body and neck shapes faithfully recreating the original '60s model. Its authentic Fender heritage is maintained down to the finest details, including cross-wired pickups, settings, and tone. Every detail, from the specially selected PREMIUM VINTAGE-STYLE '60S SINGLE-COIL STRAT® pickups to the matching headstock, finished with the same lacquer as the body, and gold hardware that adds a touch of exquisite elegance to the jet black finish, has been meticulously crafted to deliver classic playability, sweet vintage tone, and a premium look. The contrast between the black lacquer finish and the gold-lacquer lacquerwork used to repair the lacquer finish on the entire body enhances the guitar's beauty. Only 15 units will be produced of the LIMITED COLLECTION URUSHI STRATOCASTER, which boasts the rarity of a collector's item, combining the perfection of a musical instrument with the elegance of a work of art.
