A heartwarming gift from IDÉE TOKYO, accompanied by a lucky angel and heartwarming chocolate.

Event Date:2020.11.27-12.25
Nov 20, 2020
The IDEE Gallery, located adjacent to IDEE TOKYO, will be holding the "Angels and Chocolate" exhibition from November 27 to December 25, 2020.

The angels, hand-carved by Swedish artist Sverker Eklund using only an axe and chisel, are sculptures that exude a charm rather than mystical quality. To complement them, we will also be stocking a selection of chocolates made with carefully selected ingredients and crafted using both Japanese and international methods.

For the Christmas season, enjoy angels that bring good luck and heartwarming chocolates. Take this opportunity to check out our recommended heartwarming gifts from ID&E TOKYO.

◆Wooden doll carved for his daughter

Sverker Eklund is an artist who works in the Swedish port city of Gothenburg. He usually creates large sculptures, but when his daughter was born he made a doll out of some leftover wood he found in the corner of his studio, and she loved it so much that he has been making these dolls for many years. He carves each doll by hand using only an axe and chisel from sturdy wood that has been dried for over a year. The dolls are colored using tempera, a traditional paint that was used before oil paints in medieval art paintings, and the gold color is created using 23K gold leaf.
Sculptures from 57,200 yen (tax included)

◆Craft chocolate made with care for ingredients and manufacturing methods

We have a wide selection of chocolates made with care for ingredients and manufacturing methods from Japan and abroad, including visually colorful chocolate balls, financiers with a moderate sweetness for adults, chocolate tablets kneaded with tea leaves, and bean-to-bar chocolate, where everything from sourcing the beans to roasting and manufacturing is done in one workshop.

Not only are the chocolates delicious, but the packaging is also carefully thought out, making them great Christmas gifts for family and friends or as a treat for yourself.
