On March 2nd, Virgil Abloh's OFF-WHITE c/o VIRGIL ABLOH held its Fall/Winter 2017-18 women's collection show at the Palais de Tokyo. The collection was titled "Nothing New." He explained that nothing exists in this world that is created from scratch, but rather is influenced by something. While there is nothing new, he made every effort to create something different from what has come before. Believing that "street luxury," which Virgil Abloh is said to have originated, is no longer new, this season he shifted to a more refined style. While presenting traditional European-style items such as suits and dresses, he did not simply present them elegantly, but instead coordinated and styled them with hoodies and cropped innerwear, showcasing a street-inspired approach. A pleated silk satin dress was paired with checked super-long boots for a more casual look. Meanwhile, a denim two-piece set was layered with tulle to add a couture feel. One item that particularly caught the eye was the blue jacket made from brushed furniture material. It was an item that fully showcased the beauty of tailoring and showed a new side of Virgil Abloh.
