On March 1st, Bouchra Jarrar's LANVIN women's show for Fall/Winter 2017-18 took place in the Paris City Hall. Keywords like "dance," "couture," "lace," and "femininity" defined the collection, describing it as "emotional and poetic." The collection offered a wide variety of styles, from daywear to evening wear, but rather than simply presenting authentic pieces, the collection featured a twist that brought out a modern flair. Feminine lace dresses were paired with sleeveless biker jackets and low-heeled shoes for a masculine-feminine look. Leather pants and tailored jackets were paired with blouses adorned with lace and organza ruffles. Bird-motif brooches and belts added a touch of femininity to the more masculine looks. The contrast of textures was interesting, with a light halter neck dress with a satin top reminiscent of a modern ballet costume and a mannish long jacket made of tweed with glitter. Small bags called "Secret" or "Mini Secret" made from materials such as velour, python, alligator and lizard also added a touch of colour to the collection.
