GODIVA Japan Co., Ltd. will open Japan's first "GODIVA cafe Tokyo" on November 26, 2020, inside the GranRoof Front of Tokyo Station. This will be the first restaurant in Japan to offer a wide range of food options, primarily as an dine-in establishment. The company plans to open around 50 stores by 2025.

Japan's first "GODIVA café" opens
Guided by its vision of "We create Memorable Occasions of Happiness," GODIVA Japan has been bringing happiness to people's lives widely through its chocolate products. To allow people to experience the world of GODIVA even more, the company will open a "GODIVA café" on November 26th. The interior of the store blends modern European design, evocative of GODIVA's roots, with sophisticated urban flair. FRITZ HANSEN chairs are placed throughout the space, elevating the space with a casual feel suitable for everyday use.

In addition to the popular chocolate drink "Chocolixir," which has a 15-year history in Japan, we offer a wide selection of original GODIVA café Tokyo chocolate drinks. Each drink is served with a GODIVA chocolate. Our food menu offers a wide variety of items, from light snacks like jarred food and croffles to full-course meals like pasta and stew. We also offer a wide selection of chocolate desserts, satisfying a variety of needs, from drinks to meals. In addition, we have a sales area featuring original café merchandise and GODIVA gift items, so you can enjoy a variety of options, from gifts to cafes. To ensure a closer presence in customers' lifestyles, GODIVA cafés aim to open approximately 50 stores by 2025.
A coexistence of everyday comfort and a special, uplifting atmosphere
A restaurant is made up of three elements: space, food, and service. In designing the GODIVA café format, we sought to optimize the balance of these three elements, with a particular focus on "high quality" to convey the "elevate" concept. This is why we've chosen chairs from FRITZ HANSEN, a renowned Danish brand, and have featured five products: the Plenum, Ro Chair, Semen Chair, Seven Chair, and Dot. Spending time surrounded by high-end brand furniture is sure to provide a uniquely stimulating experience. FRITZ HANSEN designer Jaime Hayon designed the limited-edition GODIVA Valentine's Day packaging in 2012. It was a delightful opportunity for GODIVA to be able to collaborate again after eight years.

High-quality cocoa drinks and a diverse food menu

This time, GODIVA café Tokyo has installed the InfiniMix machine from Mitsubachi Products Co., Ltd. This machine uses high-temperature steam to melt chocolate, which is then quickly mixed with liquid using its built-in stirring blades and blender holes, creating an incredibly smooth chocolate drink. Using this machine, a wide variety of cocoa dishes will be offered. The food menu will include a variety of croffles, a combination of croissants and waffles, as well as light meals such as salads and soups in jars, as well as a wide range of savory dishes, including pasta, stew, quiche, curry, and soba. The sweets menu will also feature a chef's collection by Yannick Chevoleau, one of only five GODIVA chefs in the world. The menu will start with four items: "Chocolate Mousse," "Chocolate Muffin," "Chocolate Chiffon Cake," and "Chocolate Terrine," with plans to continually update the menu with new items.
