Photographer Nobuyoshi Araki will be holding his first solo calligraphy exhibition in Japan, "'Photo-Mad Old Man A' Araki @ISETAN - Late Elderly Calligraphy," from April 5th to 11th at the Art Gallery on the 5th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
In this exhibition, photographer Araki takes on a new form of personal expression, using ink and brushes rather than a camera. He has dubbed himself "Photo-Mad Old Man A," after Katsushika Hokusai once referred to himself in his later years as a "Mad Painter."
The exhibition allows visitors to immerse themselves in the dynamic and free-spirited world of Araki's calligraphy. In addition, an interview conducted in conjunction with the exhibition can be found on a special page on the Isetan Mitsukoshi TOKYO ART LOUNGE website (https://selection.norennoren.jp/contents/cate/art/arakinobuyoshi/).
