Actress Yamamoto Mirai was born on November 4, 1974, in Tokyo. Her father is fashion designer Yamamoto Kansai.
In 1990, she was selected for the lead role in the film "Kitaro's 15 Girls Drifting Away" at an audition held by the talent agency Amuse. She made her acting debut in 1992 with the same film.
Having graduated from an American school and fluent in English, she has appeared in many international productions. In 2008, she co-starred with her father, Kansai, in a commercial for Toyota Motor Corporation's "Corolla Axio."
In her personal life, she married actor Shiina Kippei in September 2003. Kansai designed her wedding dress. She gave birth to a boy in January 2010.
